Past Meetings

2017 Location and Activities

Oregon Pines and Columbia Cascade chapters hosted "Converge on the Gorge", the 2017 September 14-17, Northwest Section fall meeting. Held at McMenamin's Edgefield Resort, at the mouth of the Columbia River Gorge, the 74-acre estate offered lodging, dining, gardens, a movie theater, winery, brewery and distillery, full-service spa and salon, two par-3 golf courses, and original artwork and historical photographs around every corner. Activities included a WINGS seminar on "Flying in the Gorge" and a drive along the scenic Columbia Gorge Highway (constructed 1916), past Multnomah Falls on our way to Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM). At WAAAM Judy Newman, the Director and fellow 99, treated us to a presentation and tour.

2016 Location and Activities

Greater Seattle, Mt. Tahoma, and Western Washington chapters hosted the Fall 2016 "Soar the Sound" meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn, Mukilteo, and Paine Field, Everett, Washington. After the Saturday morning business meeting at the hotel, participants walked over for the Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour, followed by a reception and banquet with a guest speaker. Other tours and seminars provided further entertainment and enlightenment.

2015 Location and Activities

The Intermountain Chapter welcomed us to the great Northwest city of Spokane, Washington. It was "Plane Fun!": arts and entertainment, restaurants, wineries, golf, shopping, and outdoor fun, all within walking distance or via shuttle from the Red Lion Hotel at the Park. Felts Field (KSFF) supported our fly-gal guests with waived tie-down fees (3-4 days) at Transient Parking, and Western Aviation offered some really nice fuel discounts. Alaska Airlines provided a 5% discount.
